Osnabrück Garrison was the largest base for British soldiers outside Great Britain. It was closed in 2009.
During the twoyear period of the British troops drawdown, Blaffert & Wamhof became the chroniclers of a lingering farewell, of a moment of transition, of a moment of the 'not any longer' and the 'not yet'. It is these moments that are the subject of their artistic documentation. Their photographs can be divided into two groups of works: the pictures of the empty buildings and military facilities and the portraits of the soldiers and the civilian staff of the garrison.

Die Garnison in Osnabrück war der größte Stützpunkt britischer Soldaten außerhalb Großbritanniens. 2009 wurde er geschlossen.
In den zwei Jahren des 'drawdown', des Abzugs der britischen Truppen, wurden Blaffert & Wamhof zu Chronisten eines langsamen Abschieds, eines Moments des Übergangs, des 'NichtMehr' und 'NochNicht'. Thema ihrer Dokumentation sind diese transitorischen Augenblicke. Ihre Fotografien gliedern sich in zwei Werkkomplexe, den Aufnahmen der leeren Gebäude und militärischen Anlagen und den Porträts von Soldatinnen und Soldaten und zivilen Angestellten der Garnison.
